Green Printing
Tour of a Green Printer in Toledo.

Eight CAG members and guests visited Homewood Press {www.homewoodpress.com} in Toledo on May 21. The tour began at the new office facility where we were allowed to reminisce about some ‘80s Apple Computers. Everyone commented about how revolutionary they were back then but could not do the work today.

We the viewed the prepress department and was impressed with the direct to plate system. We then were taken to the printing area and asked a lot of questions about their presses, ink paper and recycling. Most impressing was how easily the finishing equipment could be reconfigured to accommodate the projects needs. Last we went back to the office and talked about the scented inks and received print samples.

Homewood Press is committed to helping the environment and has been for MANY years. Recycling paper and inks are just a couple ways they've helped. Now Homewood Press has become even greener. They have been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, the Programmed for the Endorsement of Forest Certification and the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership. They are the only printer in the area to obtain all four certifications. Homewood Press is environmentally committed to green printing alternatives.

Founded in 1903, Homewood Press, Inc is a full service printing house specializing in all manner of materials from brochures to annual reports, start to finish.

If you would like to know more about Homewood Press contact Dan Curson.
